I think this week deserves a great, big, resounding WTF?!! For all of you Perth people I think we can all agree that the weather is enough to drive anyone mad - Summer's here... no it's not... now it's raining... now it's stinking hot.... oh please weather gods make up your mind!!! As it so happens, while I was sketching out this weeks illustration it was feeling a bit like summer so a beach theme was more than appropriate! This luscious lady was going to be "fun", but now I've finished her I don't think that title really matches her persona, do you? So for now she will simply be my Beach Babe. All suggestions for a better title are welcome! And yes - I did have to fight the urge to put her in a yellow-polka-dot bikini! So what else made me feel all OMGWTFBBQ?!?11!?!! this week? My car! I really shouldn't bag it so much....maybe it heard me the last time and that's what caused all of my mechanical woes! I have seen Herbie, you know. Anyway, on my way to my much loved Hoola Hooping class (hey, everyone needs a hobby!) at the Burlesque Lounge in the city, my darling little car decided it wanted to dance most of the way there. No seriously, if didn't know better I'd say it was bustin' out a few hip hop moves there! This, of course, isn't quite how it should be working (no matter how stylish it thought it was) so I started heading back home. Epic Fail. Hello roadside assistance. But fear not readers, this story has a happy ending! My local mechanic can now afford a really fancy pair of coveralls. Lucky him. It's not all bad news though! Just found out today that I have a been allocated a spot at the Kalamunda Karnivale so that all of my W.A readers can check out my wares in real life...see all the glitter sparkle, smell the yummy candles... at my very own stall. It's not until Nov 29th though so I'll post more info on the whole kaboodle at little closer to the date. Just in time to pick up a spiffy little Christmas gift! I can't wait!

Oh yes, something wicked indeed - but wicked in a good way! What is this mysterious something that's heading your way? A new series of course! Yes, yes, Illustration Fridays are back on schedule again after my little hiatus there - candles are mostly finished, bags are being constructed and cards are being printed and glittered which means I can just about squeeze in a brand new sketchy-poo for all of you each week. Glee! So - what's the new series? Hmmm....this did take me a while to choose just one, but I'm deciding to run with my "Luscious Ladies" idea. Lovely, curvy, sexy ladies all looking their finest just for you. This week is a not-so-subtle theme! Well, Halloween in fast approaching and I was sketching Bella anyway so.... well you can see how the image developed! This magical miss is Trixie (Trix or treat! I know....corny. I physically can't help it!) and as you already know from earlier sketches, Bella the cat. Trixie represents the "Bewitching Woman". Each lady in this series will be representing a certain attitude or attribute (ie: Sexy, Sassy, Cute, Diva etc.) so if you can think of any good ones just post them in the comments and if it's not already in my little book of ideas I may just add it to the list! So until next Friday, have a magical weekend and a tolerable week!

*POOF* Hello, hello!!! I'm back!!! I've been uber busy trying to bend the time space continuum.... it's tiring work I might tell you! So tiring I haven't even had the time to update my blog in a couple of weeks *hangs head in shame*. Luckily though I did manage to extend what seemed like only one or two weeks to allow myself extra hours in the day to make pretty, lovely, wonderful things to add to my online store! Or did I just not sleep...? I forget. So some of you will know by now (who am I kidding? Everyone who has been unfortunate enough to cross my path in the past fortnight knows!) that I have been toiling away, making the most gorgeous scented gift candles! (If I do say so myself...). Thankyou to everyone who voted on the poll to help me decide on scents - it was neck and neck at one point! As it turns out, when I bought all of my supplies the top 2 votes were Strawberry and Vanilla (sorry all of you lemongrass lovers....you were too slow to vote! I will do your scent on the next batch!). Luckily....and this is luck, believe me....my stockist had completely sold out of Strawberry and Vanilla. Shock, horror! What's a girl to do? Upgrade of course. So now I have the great pleasure of informing you the new candle "flavours" (drool worthy!!!) are Strawberry Jam and French Vanilla Icecream!!! I told you it was lucky! You can see some photos of them on the online store - they're not quite ready to go up for sale yet...I still have to work out all the boring behind-the-scenes stuff (like what I'm gonna post the little suckers in!). But soon, oh very, very soon you could have one of your very own good-enough-to-eat gift candles. Yum. See - wasn't it worth the wait? Love what's left of your weekend...I'm off to work on my next science project - how to make a computer screen scratch n' sniff.

This Illustration Friday, I would like to shower you all with awesomeness. So here I give you the most awesome of the starsigns, "Sagittarius - The Archer" with the most awesome creature/character representing it, which coincidentally is symbolised with the most awesome colour in the spectrum. Why? Because Sagittarians are just generally quite awesome people. And so modest too! Oh, and while I was on the archer theme I thought it only seemed right to put a bit of William Tell action in there. Hence, the apple. In fact I think this little centaur is so full of awesome he could probably shoot that apple off his own damned head! I must admit I'm at a loss now, though...this is number 12 in a series of 12! So I'm busy racking my brain to decide on a new series. I've got a couple of ideas lined up - this may come down to some serious scissor, paper, rock action. But until then I think I'm going to be kept uber busy preparing new goodies to spoil you all with. I picked up my million tonnes of candle supplies today (finding somewhere to store things is not fun!) and I got my calico eco bags delivered the other day... designing and making those will definately be keeping me busy for a while. It will be worth it in the end though! ...now, I'm off to design bags! Have a great weekend and don't do anything I wouldn't!

Hell yeah! One more image to go and my zodiac series is complete!!! Very excited. Very. This week I want to spoil you all with 'Gemini - The Twins'. It's been a long time coming, because to be perfectly honest I didn't know what to draw! I've tried so hard to steer away from the all the usual, cliche images you get with zodiac signs, I didn't want to settle for 2 boys or girls just sitting side by side. Boring! So I jumped on my infinite source of knowledge - teh interwebz (which knows everything and is 100% factual) - and googled Gemini. Turns out that one of the original symbols for Gemini was actually the wolf. Why, you ask? Well you can thank that famous Roman myth about two very important twins, Romulus and Remus (sons of the God Mars) who were abandoned as babies in the River Tiber by a servant to be saved from certain death. They were discovered on the banks by a she-wolf who suckled them raised them as her own (is anyone else expecting Baloo and Bagheera to jump out of the bushes and sing "The Bear Necessities"?). Once they were grown, they went on to become the founders and first rulers of the great city of Rome. Don't you scoff and tell me you've never heard of that story! Google it! I'd heard of Romulus and Remus before now, I just wasn't aware of the whole story. But now I know. So there. Anyway - point of the story is, Gemini in Artemiss Creations astrology is now symbolised by twin wolf cubs. And uber cute ones at that. Even if you've learnt nothing from this mini mythology lesson you can always use the story to baffle people that are boring you at the next function you attend. I always take great pleasure in watching peoples reactions when you pop a random "Did you know....?" into a convo. Especially when it's completely irrelevant.
A pregnant goldfish is called a twit. Fact.
